what we do
Parakletos has been connecting tangata/people in Aotearoa with skilled and compassionate mental health professionals since 2022. We provide integrated services for ACC Sensitive Claims clients based in the wider Dunedin area and Wellington.
Parakletos means to “walk alongside”. Our therapists are committed to providing timely, tailored, equitable and appropriate services to walk alongside clients and support them on their healing journey. Shantraj and Loreen Bethel are the founders of the organisation and are both Counsellors. They are committed to walking alongside both therapists and clients, in whatever way is needed, so that clients are enabled and supported to the fullest extent possible in their recovery.

Along with maintaining his own therapy caseload, his role as the Clinical Lead at Parakletos is to support providers. He facilitates provider induction programmes, training programmes and supporting providers in familiarising with ACC processes. He walks alongside the providers in liaising with clients, ACC and external agencies.
